What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lisa - Verified booking

We spent an absolutely amazing two weeks at Willow Lodge, nestled on the edge of a small wood it's picturesque, secluded and beautiful.

On arrival we found a delicious cream tea waiting for us and some milk in the fridge, the lodge was very clean and well equipt with everything we needed, including dish washer tablets and hand soap. Not having to take towels was an added bonus too, the car was already chocker block! The lodge is a perfect base and is 30-60 minutes away from pretty much anywhere you want to go. The only thing I would say the lodge could do with is some hooks to keep the doors open as they kept blowing shut when it was windy, and some bath robes for when you get out of the hot tub would be brilliant. The hot tub itself could do with upgrading as a few of the jets didn't work but it was still a very welcome addition and was used on all but 2 of our 14 days, the kids loved it and after a final dip on the morning we left we forgot to take the swimming things out of the washing machine after spinning them, Anne was kind enough to return them to us along with a light control my son had left behind. Anne is an extremely friendly host and always on hand to help with any problems, our toaster was only toasting on one side which we said wasn't a problem as the other side side worked fine, but it was still replaced very promptly. She also checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok and was very helpful with some local questions we had. One tip, if using sat nav during your stay, don't have it set to quickest route, we only found this out in the second week after realising the A30 and A39 will lead you pretty much everywhere, sat nav will take you down all the narrow, winding (and frankly scary at times) roads because it thinks it's the quickest way but because you can't get over 10-20mph it can double your travelling time. Overall we would highly recommend this lodge and have already started saving to go back.

We had a wonderful week at Willow lodge.

The lodge has been upgraded with new carpets and sofas which has improved the overall look of the lodge and was a pleasant surprise on arrival …photos online should be updated to show this. We stayed with three teenagers and they loved the hot tub which was used everyday and was very much the highlight of the lodge. We chose the lodge due to having a hot tub but also the location which was so peaceful and not overlooked at all. It was a great base in which to explore Cornwall. The lodge is spacious and the bedrooms had ample space for everyone staying plus lots of space for clothes storage. The beds were comfortable and the shower was more than adequate. A problem with the shower was dealt with promptly by the owners. Overall everyone in our group had a wonderful stay and we would recommend staying here. It would be lovely if there were some garden games stored in the outside cupboard as there is a good sized lawn in which to enjoy them, badminton sets or swing ball etc. Lastly, the personal touches of delicious scones, jam and cream on arrival were a welcome treat and loo rolls, washing up liquid and tea towels also welcome as an additional extra that most properties do not include.

      This Lodge was absolutely fabulous.

It is in such a lovely quiet unspoiled location, and made you feel you were ‘right in the country’. Anne was so pleasant and helpful and I felt nothing would have been too much trouble. As others have mentioned the cream tea waiting in the fridge is a lovely touch, and I was so impressed by the little things like washing up liquid, cloths, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls and soap (and washing powder) that were all supplied, making it one bag lighter for travelling! The sunken hot tub was wonderful, so relaxing sitting out in evening sun listening to the birds in the trees and watching the buzzard hunting nearby. The skies at night here are absolutely breathtaking. We would happily return to Willow Lodge, it was the perfect place to get away from it all.

Just back from a great week's staying at Willow Lodge.

What a lovely surprise on arrival of an afternoon tea, just what we needed after a 7 hour drive. The Lodge was spacious and very clean. Beds were super comfy and within the Lodge there was enough kitchen utensils for us to make meals. (Was tricky finding places to eat out, due to covid and many food outlets being pinged and under staffed) Hot tub was a great way to relax after a busy day exploring Cornwall. The Lodge is down some very tiny lanes, so some careful driving is needed. It's so quiet and was lovely to be able to sit and listen to the animals which were in the woods next to the Lodge. We had a great stay and if we decide to holiday again in Cornwall will definitely book again. Thanks Anne for such a great stay.

Firstly and most important, there really is nothing negative to say about Willow Lodge.

For my partner and I, this was one of our best lodge holidays! The accommodation was perfectly clean throughout, fully equipped with all facilities. A welcome cream tea awaited in the fridge, plus tea, coffee and milk to get one settled in. The lodge is in a very quiet location, not overlooked and extremely private. Lounging in the hot tub, day or evening is a delight with an abundance of visiting wildlife to observe. Ideally located for local woodland walks or using as a base for walking the Coastal Path a few minutes drive away. In summary, a special place, one where we are already planning to return.
