What our customers say about their holidays

We have just returned from a wonderful week staying at Serenity Lodge in Wemyss Bay.

The lodge was beautifully appointed, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners, Angela and Gordon have literally thought of everything that may be useful to holiday makers including a telescope and binoculars! They not only provided a welcome hamper, but also included luxuries such as toiletries, bath robes and slippers. The communication with the owners regarding our stay was excellent, and, as a family we were so delighted and appreciative that they agreed to, and accommodated an oxygen delivery which enabled my elderly mother to have her first holiday for years which she thoroughly enjoyed. The views from the lodge are stunning, and we were glad that there were at least a couple of days during our stay when the weather allowed us to sit out on the furnished deck to eat breakfast, and also to unwind on the deck and appreciate the scenery in the evenings. The lodge is ideally situated to use as a base from which to visit the local area and beyond, and has good transport links. Largs, Millport, Glasgow, Troon, Loch Lomond and Loch Ness are just a few of the places we managed to visit during our stay. After a long day exploring, it was always good to return ‘home’ to the cosy lodge, and we definitely hope to return again next year.

My family & I (3 generations) have just returned home after an amazing week at Serenity Lodge.

We've all had a fantastic time! Firstly, the area is amazing, so much to do. We had an advantage in terms of local knowledge as we lived in nearby Inverkip several years ago. We'd recommend the coastal path from Kip Marina to Cardwell Garden Centre for lunch etc. Then the walk back inland through the Ardgowen Estate. Largs (Vikingar & Nardini's), train to Glasgow from Wemyss Bay Station, Balloch on Loch lomond for a Loch cruise, shopping & Sealife Centre & Kelburn Castle & Country Estate a few miles from Wemyss Bay. The Inverkip Hotel is well worth a visit for dinner also. Serenity Lodge commands a fantastic location with brilliant views. It's very well furnished to a high standard with a welcome pack with some basic food items plus a few treats. Dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries are also provided which is a great touch. The Lodge really does have everything you would need for a week or more stay. The owners were very helpful pre and post arrival. All things combined ensure that we will definitely be staying at Serenity Lodge again in the future!

The lodge is in a great position overlooking the sea and the bottom of the road into the Holiday Park is opposite the rail and ferry terminal.

Handy for train links and ferry crossing to Bute. Initial problems due to boiler failure were quickly sorted by the owner Gordon and we had a comfortable stay. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit an miss and we only got connected to Sky a couple of times but we managed. It could have been due to the awful weather but that was no ones fault. I could not find much information about the appliances so struggled a bit using washer. If you want to use the park facilities you have to buy the passes at £16.50pp for 6 days. We did not bother as we do not go out in the evening and as my husband is disabled we would have to drive to the entertainment area which was up the steep hill. It cost us £42 return to take the car and 2 passengers to Bute but well worth it. Lots to see and do and visit to Mount Stuart is a must (but there is a bus if you don't want to drive). All in all a lovely area and views. Very friendly people. Welcome pack was lovely touch.

Serenity Lodge has the correct name, it was so peaceful and quiet with fantastic views across the firth to the island of Bute.

The lodge is beautiful, very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. The welcome pack and little extras was appreciated. The location of the lodge is great, as it is central for exploring by ferry. We walked 5 mins to Wemyss ferry terminal and went over to Bute without the car, then travelled by bus to Mount Stewart which is well worth a visit, It was easy and cheap, and we had a lovely day. We found Largs (only 6 miles away) charming, and we went over to Great Cumbrae on the ferry as passengers, caught the bus to Millport, once again easy and affordable. Ardrossan, a bit further along the coast from Largs has the ferry to Arran. Unless you are cycling or good walkers, we would recommend taking the car. The island is beautiful but if you drive to the other side of the island the views and beaches are fabulous. I would highly recommend Serenity Lodge and hope to return one day

Before booking I read the reviews and admit to thinking that "no holiday let is this good!

" ;Serenity Lodge fully merits every praiseworthy review. It really is a wonderful place - its location, tranquility, cleanliness and views from the balcony are the best we have ever experienced in many, many years. The owners are delightful people and so helpful and, as others have commented, the welcome basket is excellent. We had a truly wonderful week helped by glorious weather although our experience in Scotland tells us that it probably wasn't typical! If we had a slight reservation, and it would probably only apply to our over 80's age group, it is that the relaxing seating on decking and lounge is rather too soft and/or low and ideally we need firmer mattresses. That said, I must repeat that Serenity Lodge does offer holiday accommodation which is unlikely to be bettered - many thanks Gordon for a fabulous week. William & Ann Collin -June 2023
