The location of Barmouth Bay Holiday Park just couldnât be more perfect. Set on the west coast of Wales, amidst the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park, thereâs so much to do, see and explore in the local area itâs hard to know where to begin. GreenWood Family Park is a lovely spot to explore all together. Jampacked with action and adventure, this superb spot has been voted the best family day out in North Wales. With roller coasters, waterslides, archery, little cars for the kids to drive and the first solar-powered ride in the UK, all the family will have a great day out at GreenWood. Whatâs more, if the weather is looking a little grim, you can always let the kids burn off all their energy playing in the Enchanted WoodBarn. If youâre feeling up for a challenge, then why not set out to tackle Mount Snowdon? The highest peak in both Wales and England, this famous mountain towers at just over 1,000 metres and takes about five to seven hours to climb up and down. If you donât fancy the walk, then you can opt to go up with the Snowdon Mountain Railway instead. Zip World Fforest is another great spot for a day trip, especially if you have any thrill-seekers in the group. Bounce in Treetop Nets, brave zip lines and adventure courses set high in the trees and take on Skyride - Europeâs highest giant swing. If the weather is not looking so good or if youâd prefer to go underground, then head to Zip World Slate Caverns instead. Here youâll find a spine-tingling adventure course set in a disused slate mine. This activity promises plenty of excitement and adventure, even on a rainy day. For history lovers, a visit to Harlech Castle is a must. This enormous Medieval fortification towers over the Irish Sea from its rocky perch - a striking sight to behold. Whatâs more, this is the site of the longest siege in British history, which lasted for a staggering seven years. The siege inspired Walesâ much-loved alternative national anthem the âMen of Harlechâ, a tune which is particularly popular with the rugby crowds.
