If you love the beach, then Golden Sands Holiday Park Rhyl is the holiday spot for you. With a beautiful sandy beach just a stone’s throw away, heading out for a spot of swimming and sandcastle building just couldn’t be easier. Beach access is via an easy walking track, so you won’t have too far to lug your bucket and spade. If it’s a little too cold for the beach, then head to the heated indoor pool instead. Here you’ll also find a bubble pool, as well as a special toddler pool for the little ones. The adventure playground is a great option for the older kids, as is the amusement arcade. Grown-ups will be pleased to hear there’s a dedicated sports bar on site, meaning you won’t have to miss any important matches. Feeling peckish? Head to the Sandpiper Restaurant for a tasty dinner, or else treat yourself to a takeaway from The Chippy. If you feel like cooking up a storm, then stock up at the grocery shop and make use of your well-equipped kitchen. Cosy family dinners together in the caravan are a memory you’ll always cherish. If you fancy stretching your legs and exploring the local area, then there’s a bicycle track and walkway which can be accessed directly from the park. Culture-vultures and history-lovers should head to the pretty Victorian seaside town of Llandudno. With its picturesque waterfront, traditional pier and the majestic Conwy Castle close by, this makes for the perfect day trip.
If you’re driving to Golden Sands Rhyl then exit off the A55 at Junction 25 and follow the signs to Bodelwyddan. At the second roundabout take the first exit onto Abergele Road and then the second road right, following the signs to Kinmel Bay. When you reach the next roundabout, take the second exit onto St Asaph Avenue, before turning left at the traffic lights. Turn right before you reach the bridge and then immediately left and you will have reached your destination. If you’re coming by public transport, then the nearest train station is in Rhyl. From here you can take a taxi directly to the caravan holiday park. The journey takes around ten minutes and should cost approximately £6.
With an endless list of facilities and activities at Golden Sands Rhyl, it’s hard to know where to start. The park boasts a fantastic array of cosy caravans, luxurious lodges and homely chalets, suitable for all tastes and budgets. In addition to being spacious and well-equipped, all the accommodation has central heating and double glazing. What’s more, every holiday home comes with its own lounge and Freeview TV - perfect for cosy family movie nights. There is free wifi throughout the entertainment complex. Spend your days splashing in the swimming pool, letting the kids run wild in the soft play area or else working up a sweat in the outdoor sports courts. The Family Entertainment Programme is another great way to have some fun all together. However, if you fancy the afternoon off, then you can always sign the kids up to the Children’s Entertainment Programme. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time to tuck into a tasty dinner at the Sandpiper Restaurant or indulge in a takeaway from The Chippy. If you’re all still full of energy, then there’s plenty of evening entertainment to keep everyone amused. Or else the sports bar will definitely be showing something on the big screen.
There are plenty of things to do and see around Rhyl and the surrounding area. If you like your castles, then head ten minutes down the road to Rhuddlan. Here you’ll find an impregnable medieval fortress towering over the river. The Rhyl Botanical Gardens are a lovely spot for a leisurely afternoon stroll, as is Brickfield Pond - the local nature reserve. For something a little more strenuous, you could cycle along the coast to the pretty town of Llandudno.16 miles each way, this is a great day out for groups of friends or families with older children. Thrill-seekers will want to head to Zip World over in Penrhyn Quarry, where you can zoom around on the fastest zip line in the world. Set above a beautiful blue quarry lake, this is also a great chance to catch some stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
