Once you’re done for the day, make a beeline for one of the park’s lovely restaurants, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner all together. After supper, you can either make use of the park’s entertainment venues or else head back to your cosy accommodation and get some rest - ready for another fun-filled day tomorrow.
Getting to Marton Mere by car just couldn’t be easier. Exit off the M55 at Junction 4, before turning right onto the A583 when you get to the roundabout, following the signs for Blackpool. From here, turn right at the Clifton Arms traffic lights onto Mythop Road and you’ll find the park situated 150 yards on the left. If you’re journeying to the park by public transport, then North Blackpool is the nearest train station and is just about three miles away. From here you can take a bus to the holiday village.
The facilities at Marton Mere Holiday Village are second to none. From the cosy, comfortable holiday homes and the lovely on-site restaurant to the wide array of activities and the smiley, helpful staff - you’ll find your stay as smooth and enjoyable as can be. Each caravan is well-equipped and spacious, with all models coming with televisions and fridge freezers, and the newer models offering central heating and double glazing to boot. If you want to go all out, then you can opt for a Prestige caravan featuring your own private decking - perfect for having sundowners on. On-site you’ll find a reception, mini-market and launderette, as well as one restaurant, two bars and a little fish and chip shop - perfect if you fancy a lazy supper. Now, for the fun stuff: the park boasts a range of exciting activities, with plenty of options for everyone. With indoor and outdoor heated pools, a Space Bowl Flume, Outdoor Splash Zone, Aqua Jets, and Aqua Gliders, you won’t be stuck for things to do when the sun comes out. Younger children will love the indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as the Pic ‘n’ Paint pottery, Turbo Paddlers and Mini Sports. They can also pick up some useful skills in the Learn2Swim and Learn2Bike classes, as well as showing off their passing, dribbling and scoring at the Football Academy. Adults can head to the all-weather multi-sports court or else try their hand at Adventure Golf, archery or fencing. If you’re fancying something a little less energetic, then you can spend a peaceful afternoon on the bowling green.
Just a ten-minute drive away from Blackpool, you’ve got all the fun of the town right on your very doorstep. With a famous pleasure beach, local zoo and one of the best parks in the UK, it’s well worth paying Blackpool a visit. Blackpool Zoo is home to an array of exotic and exciting animals, including gorillas, tigers, lions and giraffes. As well as the usual exhibits and talks, the zoo also offers a range of special experiences including a ‘Family Keeper Experience’ and a ‘Feed a Giraffe’. The zoo is located on the other side of Stanley Park (which was voted the UK’s Best Park 2019), so you should definitely leave plenty of time to explore the park on your return trip. A walk along Blackpool’s iconic promenade is another must, as is a trip up The Blackpool Tower. During the summer months, a direct bus service runs from Marton Mere Holiday Village right into Blackpool Town centre, with stops along the promenade and pleasure beach. Meaning there’s no excuse not to get out and explore the local town. If you’re a keen hiker, then there are lots of lovely walks to be done in the local area. Start by exploring the Marton Mere Local Nature Reserve, which is home to a rich variety of wildlife, flora and fauna, including wild orchids and many species of dragonflies and butterflies.
