While outdoorsy types will love the wild and windswept beauty of Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, set right on your doorstep. The kids will enjoy splashing around in the indoor heated pool and playing games in the all-weather ball court. For the little ones, thereâs a great kidâs playground and the park also organises a range of fab childrenâs activities with Richie the Rabbit, meaning you can have a little break while they play. The holiday park is easily reached by car. If youâre coming from the South, then take the A52 towards the centre of Skegness. When you reach the main one-way system, follow the signs for Richmond Coach Park and the brown coloured tourist signs depicting a caravan symbol. Stay right until you pass the Lumley Hotel on your right. From here, bear left and continue to follow the brown signs. The park is located on Richmond Drive, about half a mile down the road and on the right-hand side. If youâre coming from the West, then get on the A158 head towards Skegness but before you reach the city turn right at the traffic lights, again following signs for âGibraltar Point/South Endâ as well as the brown signs depicting a caravan. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the main one-way system. From here, follow the signs for âRichmond Coach Parkâ as well as the brown signs with the caravan. The instructions from this point are the same as the South. Those travelling by public transport can get a train directly to the town of Skegness, from here itâs a 10-minute walk or just a few minutes in a taxi to the park. If youâd prefer to travel by bus or coach, then Skegnessâ bus station is situated on a variety of regular routes and is also just a 10 minute walk away from the park. National Express runs a daily coach service from London directly to Skegness and the prices for a journey start from as little as ÂŁ5 each way. This makes travelling by coach a great option if youâre trying to stick to a budget.

Here at Richmond Holiday Centre, youâre just a ten-minute walk away from Skegnessâ vibrant town centre. Ideal if you like being in the thick of it. Take a stroll along the townâs lovely seafront and pier, stopping in the pretty seaside bars and cafes along the way. Or else, head down bucket and spade in hand, ready for a family day out on the beach. Natureland Seal Sanctuary is well known in the area for rescuing and rehabilitating injured, sick or orphaned seals which become stranded on Lincolnshireâs shores. In addition to seals, youâll find an array of other animals at the sanctuary including penguins, meerkats and alpacas. During your visit, you can watch the sanctuary staff feeding the seals and the kids will also be able to join in with pottery painting or get their faces painted like a seal. Just down the road from you, Skegness Aquarium is a great option for a rainy day. Marvel at the incredible world below the sea, take the kids on an underwater pirate adventure and watch live feeds and diver presentations in the Sunken Hold Aquatheatre. If there are any pony-mad members of the family, then take them on a trip to Northcote Heavy Horses Centre. This special spot rescues and cares for ponies of all shapes and sizes, as well as birds of prey and other animals, from the Lincolnshire area. Visitors to the centre can get up close to the horses and even groom them or lead them around. Just a 30-minute drive away, youâll find the ruins of Bolingbroke Castle. This important fortress was the birthplace of the future King Henry VI and a vital stronghold for the Royalists during the Civil War. Sadly it was destroyed by Parliamentarian forces in 1643. However, the moat and ruins still stand and are free to enter and explore.
