The pretty seaside town of Bognor Regis is right on your very doorstep. Take a stroll along the town’s 3-mile promenade and admire the stretching sea views from the Bognor Regis Pier. The town is flanked by long stretches of sandy beaches - perfect for strolling along on a sunny afternoon. If you fancy venturing a little further afield, then the picture-perfect town of Arundel is located just 10 miles away from the park and is a lovely afternoon out for all the family. As well as being charming, stylish and full of shops and pubs, the town also houses a medieval castle, which history buffs will definitely want to go and explore. Nature lovers will be enchanted by Arundel Wetland Centre where you can take a boat safari out to spot kingfishers and water vowels. If you’re looking for a bit of an adventure then why not take a ferry to the Isle of Wight? Famous for its stunning beaches, seafront promenades and dinosaur remains, this beautiful island has plenty of things to keep you occupied for the day. Ferries depart to the isle throughout the day from the town of Portsmouth, which is just a 30-minute drive away from the park. The local area is also full of walking and cycle routes, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get the family out into nature. The South Downs National Park is just a 20-minute drive away and is full of beautiful scenery and easy-going walking routes.
