Luckily, Sandy Bay is home to a selection of eateries, including the lovely Boathouse Bar & Restaurant, which was refurbished in 2017. If youâre driving from the south on the A194, then take the second exit at White Mare Pool roundabout following the signs for South Shields (A194). Follow the A194 until you reach the Tyne Tunnel/Morpeth roundabout and take the first exit. Pass through the Tyne Tunnel (this is a toll road) and take the second exit at the next roundabout, continuing along the road to the Moor Farm roundabout where you should take the fifth exit for Ashington (A189). Cross the bridge over the River Wansbeck onto the A189 before taking the fourth exit for Newbiggin and Sandy Bay at the North Seaton roundabout. Sandy Bay Holiday Park is located a little further down this road. If you opt to reach the parl by public transport instead, then take a train to Pegswood train station. From here itâs just a 12-minute taxi to the park. The closest bus stop to the park is located just two minutes away on the B1334. The stop is served by the routes 35, 52 and X21 and will take you to and from the towns of Woodhorn and Newbiggin.

Head to the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne for a spot of shopping, chatting to the friendly locals as you go. If youâre into your beer, then make sure you stop for a pint of Newquay Brown while youâre there too as this particular ale originated from Newcastle.
