Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest is part of our Wanderwood Lodge Holidays Collection, in the heart of beautiful Robin Hood Country in arguably the most famous forest in England. Nestling in 40 acres of woodland these lovely lodges create a fabulous base for lovers of the great outdoors while enjoying one of Britain’s most enchanting areas. The park provides a magical base for couples and friends, and an excellent choice for a family break at any time of year. On-site, the park provides a wide variety of activities for all ages and tastes including woodland trails, outdoor activities and archery Robin Hood style, an animal corner, bug hotel and bird feeding viewing wall, as well as swimming pool. Whilst off-site there is a huge range of places to visit many on the doorstep including the fabulous brand new RSPB Visitor Centre in Sherwood Forest just 3 miles away, and the beautiful Rufford Abbey Country Park a short stroll away. Due to steep gradients and steps, Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest is not suitable for wheelchair users or persons with mobility difficulties.

Getting to Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest
The park lies 2 miles S of Ollerton, 20 miles N of Nottingham. Nearby towns
are Mansfield, 12 miles and Newark, 14 miles.
NB. Avoid the ford on Rufford Lane & approach from Wellow.
Driving South, leave M1 jct 31, take A57 / A614 to Ollerton roundabout. Take
1st exit onto A616 to Newark. Just before Wellow, turn right onto Rufford Lane.
Driving North, leave M1 jct 21A, join A46 to Newark, take A616 through
Wellow, and turn left onto Rufford Lane. Entrance on the right at bottom of hill.
