Little ones can spend countless happy hours indulging in dozens of top-shop activities. Why not start in the amusement arcade, before a few turns hurtling down the exhilarating water slide and then burning off a little extra energy in one of two fantastic adventure playgrounds. But the fun doesn’t stop there, as Southview Holiday Park tries just as hard to keep the parents happy. Picture two well-stocked and gorgeously scenic fishing lakes, a peaceful nine-hole golf course and wonderfully relaxing sauna and steam room. If there’s a better way to melt away the stress of everyday life, we’d like to hear it.
Southview Holiday Park sits a 130-minute drive from the M1. If you’re heading southbound on the M1, take exit 31 and follow the A47 through Worksop. When you reach the Apleyhead roundabout, take the second exit for the South A1. Eventually, leave the A1 via the exit signposted Cognition. At the T-junction, turn left toward Coddington and continue onto the A17 Sleaford. Eventually, once you reach Bone Mill Junction, take the exit for Sleaford and Horncastle A153. At the approaching T-junction, turn left toward Horncastle and Skegness (A153), and at the approaching roundabout take the second exit for Skegness A153 (A155). Continue along the A155, turning left at the T junction for Grimsby A16 and at the upcoming roundabout take the third exit for A158. After following the A158 for nine miles, until you are around 1.5 miles from Skegness, Southview Holiday Park will be on your left.
As well as offering up more than its fair share of lovely views, Southview Leisure Park boasts a wide range of facilities, activities and entertainment. If you fancy taking a break from cooking, there are multiple food spots, including a bar and restaurant, half board dining, and takeaways. There’s an amusement arcade, entertainment venue and fully-equipped gym. If you fancy a peaceful afternoon, take some kit down to one of the two gorgeous fishing lakes, the nine-hole golf course or kick back in the sauna and steam room. There’s an indoor swimming pool with an exhilarating waterslide, two adventure playgrounds and kid’s club. For outdoor fun, there’s mini-golf and a multi-sports court. A convenience store caters to all your holiday essentials, and you’ll also have access to a laundrette and high-speed WiFi throughout the complex.
Nestled in the middle of Lincolnshire, on England’s eastern coast, Skegness is the definition of a picturesque seaside town, and home to hundreds of appealing local attractions. From donkey rides to crazy golf, and award-winning fish and chips - whatever memories you have of childhood trips to English shores, Skegness is the place to relive them. Skegness is a town tailor-made for family holidays. In fact, it was the site of the first-ever Butlins holiday resort, way back in 1936. Why not explore Natureland Seal Sanctuary or Fantasy Island, a famous amusement park full of white-knuckle rides and all-round fun. But Skegness’ sandy beaches aren’t just a place for family frolics. Having been a key settlement for ancient Rome, the Skegness shores still hide numerous valuable artefacts. Forget seashells, why not spend an afternoon beside the seaside, searching the sands for ancient Roman pottery.
