Brimming with first-class family entertainment, Thorpe Park Holiday Centre is loaded with brilliant things to do, even by our high, holiday park standards. With so much to do, it doesn’t matter who you are or who you’re travelling with, this deluxe caravan and holiday park is just the place for you. If you’re in the mood for some water-themed fun, there’s everything from a gentle indoor pool, perfect for grabbing a few leisurely lengths to an outdoor space bowl flume, for an action-packed afternoon. While here, you can even home your sporting skills, with one of the many on-site coaching classes, including archery, football and swimming. If you’re craving a slightly more peaceful afternoon, kick back by the park’s large fishing lake, and only move when it’s time to reel a catch in. Alternatively, how about a few rounds on the huge, 9-hole golf course, a great place to not only show off your skills but also get a few lung fulls of fresh sea air. What’s more, there’s no less to do outside of the park. The surrounding seaside resort of Cleethorpes is a classically British spot, offering all kinds of nostalgic coastline fun. Not to mention, the nearby miniature railway is one of the most popular attractions in Lincolnshire, providing some nearly unbeatable photo opportunities.
You can find the Thorpe Park Holiday Centre at Cleethorpes, DN35 0PW. If you’re coming by car, you’ll want to drive via the A1, heading along the M11 first if you’re coming from far South. Once on the A1, you’ll start seeing brown tourist signs for Thorpe Park Holiday Centre. Follow the signs into Cleethorpes, all the way to the park entrance. If you’re coming by train, head toward Grimsby Town station. From here, you can catch the number 8 bus towards North Sea Lane. Get off at North Sea Lane and you’ll be an easy 11-minute walk from the park entrance. If that bus isn’t running, you can also get the number 10 from Old Market Place and once again get off at North Sea Lane.
If you judge your holiday parks on how many fantastic facilities they offer Thorpe Park is sure to come top of your list. The country park boasts several swimming pools, including a heated indoor pool, lazy river, waterslides and flumes, an outdoor space bowl flume and even a splash zone. No holiday park is complete without a fully-stocked amusement arcade, while for outdoor fun, head to the all-weather multi-sports courts. For the adventurous, there’s the zip wire, the leap of faith, archery coaching and junior segways, or why not try tackling the climbing wall in the adventure park. Why not have a relaxed morning on the 9-hole golf course, adventure golf curse and the pitch putt, or hone your skills with football coaching, learn to bike or skills to swim sessions. There are even sports sessions for under-fives and a fully-stocked fishing lake for when the sun is shining. As for food, the park is home to many of your favourite large food outlets. You can enjoy Burger King, Papa John’s Pizza or get into the seaside spirit with Cook’s Fish and Chips. If you ever need some peace and quiet, there’s family entertainment all day long at the kid’s club and play area. There’s a laundrette on-site and a mini-mart selling all the holiday essentials you forgot to pack.
A seaside resort in the North East of Lincolnshire, Cleethorpes is a spot that seems made for family holidays. Its main attraction, Cleethorpe beach, is an utterly British seaside spot. This peaceful, sandy stretch unravels for miles and is decked with an assortment of classic coastline events and activities. No seaside holiday could be complete without a donkey ride along the sand. Afterwards, why not take a wander through the award-winning gardens on the promenade or grab an ice cream and simply lie on the sand, watching the waves roll in. Cleethorpes is one of the best places in Britain to find a holiday home with a stunning sea view. For a spot of truly wholesome family fun, spend an afternoon in the number one tourist attraction in North East Lincolnshire - Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway. One of Britain’s oldest miniature seaside railways, this steam train has been delighting tourists for generations. Sit back and enjoy the two-mile journey through one of the most picturesque parts of the county. After you’ve worked up a thirst riding Lincolnshire’s rails, stop for a pint at the Signal Box Inn. A watering hole that calls itself ‘the smallest pub on the planet’. Another essential stop off
