Things to do near Chessington World of Adventures

    Surrey Hills AONB

At over 400 kilometres square, the Surrey Hills are maybe the largest picnic spot in Britain. Officially ranked as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the hills are an oasis of softly undulating grassland and blissfully fresh air. As well as being a particularly popular spot for walkers and bird watchers, if you head down with your bike, you can explore some of the best cycling routes in the country.

    Hobbledown

From jumping pillows to zorbing courses, and grand wooden castles that let your imagination run free, Hobbledown is home to over 50 acres of adventure. Meet incredible birds of prey in the Raptor Centre or conquer your fears on the High Ropes. This Adventure Farm Park and Zoo is the ideal add-on to a week of family-friendly fun.

    Hampton Court Palace

Welcome to the home of England’s most infamous monarch, Henry VIII. Experience the public dramas and privates lives of the garish king, his children and, of course, his many wives. Home to period actors, grand feasts and gorgeous gardens, Hampton Court Palace isn’t just a historic structure, it’s a trip to Tudor England.

    Bushy Park

Bushy Park is, in our professional opinion, one of the most majestic places in Britain. Herds of red and fallow deer scamper through its mix of trickling waterways, green grassland and immaculate gardens. Keep an eye out for rare and wonderful birdlife, including woodpeckers, kingfishers and kestrels.

    Claremont House

After a weekend of candy floss and hot dogs at Chessington World of Adventures, you may be craving a meal with a little more class. Well, look no further than Claremont House. This grand, 18th-century Palladian mansion is a gorgeous example of classic Venetian architecture. Inside, it serves delightful cream teas, with a hefty helping of sophistication.
