About this property

If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity, Goose Run Cottage is hidden away on a beautiful 70-acre private family estate, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A carefully designed, contemporary interior with touches of luxury make this a special place to get away from it all.

Set in the heart of a private country estate in West Dorset, Goose Run Cottage is so secluded that you probably won’t hear any traffic or see many other people at all while you’re here. Relax and focus on the birdsong all around you. Stroll through the wild flower meadows and the woodland, or climb the tree house and keep your eyes peeled for the birds and the wildlife. Then sit out on the patio as dusk descends. The lack of light pollution makes the stars seem like you could reach out and touch them.

The heart of the property is the open plan living area, with a well-equipped kitchen and a breakfast bar at one end, and a living room with large Smart television and comfy sofas at the other. The whole of the ground floor has underfloor heating, keeping you warm and snug whatever the weather. The living space opens out onto the private garden with its panorama of the estate grounds. If you enjoy looking out onto the scenery, the master bedroom on the first floor also has a feature window with stunning views of the lake.

With so much beautiful landscape to explore right on your doorstep, you might not want to venture too far during your stay. But if you’d like to stretch your legs, you’ll find a charming thatched pub just a mile away. If you decide to venture further afield, you’re just a short drive away from some of the South West’s best destinations, including Bridport and Lyme Regis. After a day exploring, you can come back to your own private hideaway and relax in comfort.

We had a wonderful few days at Goose Run. The cottage was spotless and everything in excellent working order. The views were stunning and we loved being able to explore the estate. The car charger was very handy. Would also recommend the local pub - the Fox Inn. Lovely hosts too. We plan to rebook!
