We love that this cosy cottage is nestled in the middle of the beautiful village of Windermere with all its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with 2 minutes’ walk. Ideally placed to experience the Cumbrian lifestyle.. 2 steps to entrance.

You enter this cottage into the open lounge area which invites you to “come in and settle down”, kick off your boots and hang you jacket after a good day’s walking and take a seat in front of a roaring log fire. The Cottage maintains a clean & cosy feel throughout to give you that “home from home” feel. Moving through the cottage you enter the dining room, again with a log burner so you have the perfect social area to talk about the day’s events. The kitchen has ample space and facilities to be able to cater for everything from a packed lunch to a full Sunday roast. Off the dining room is a door which leads down to the cellar bedroom, an ideal cosy den with its low ceiling and king size bed. Moving upstairs there is a family sized bathroom with a bath for soaking those aching feet or if you prefer, a shower unit over the bath. The master bedroom is good sized and has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a twin bed layout. The property is completed by a private patio area to the rear where you can enjoy a glass of wine on those warm summer evenings. Windermere itself is a beautiful village with a nice selection of independent shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants so you may not even want to explore any further but for those that do, within 1 mile walk you can find yourself in Bowness-on-Windermere which offers an even greater selection of independent shops & bars. It is also home to the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, then of course you arrive at one of the focal points of Lake Windermere itself, which offers ferries to other areas and attractions around the lake itself, including the Lakes aquarium, Hill Top House of Beatrix Potter and Haverthwaite Steam railway. If you enjoy water sports then you can choose to hire everything from motorboats, canoes, kayaks or paddle boards. With Michelin starred restaurants, to cinemas and theatres, stately homes and of course some of the most stunning scenery on the planet, there is sure to be something for everyone in the Lakes.

Had a lovely time, the cottage was immaculate and like a tardis in size!! Kitchen had everything you could need and more. Shower was superb, Comfy bed. No wardrobes but that was fine for us. Possibly a night light similar to in bedroom at top of stairs for safety after using bathroom at night would be good as I was vary wary of step? Parking outside but can get busy. Loved the little yard. Plenty to do in the area

Fantastic time we had would really recommend a stay there just one thing the remote control of the telly needs replacing the volume button as gone on it lol but please got to Campbell cottage you will love it and windermere as well

Cottage was lovely inside, old and new , kitchen modern with all amenities, nice and clean workspace and cupboards , but the kitchen floor was filthy, i spilt some water and cleaned it up and the floor was black :( , was a nice touch with the bottle of prosecco , living area comfy , bedrooms clean , main bed wasnt comfy for us so we slept in the other bedroom after the first night, the cottage was let down by a dirty bathroom, hairs in the bath, dirty floor, and only 1/2 a toilet roll, it looked like it had been missed being cleaned compared to the rest of the house ?Couldn't find the bags to put the bedding in either . Local to shops and bars , we were there 7 nights and couldn't get a parking space on 2 nights so had to pay in the car park , needs a good tidy outside the cottage , garden area is small but is safe for dogs
