We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Three Peaks House. Its three main selling points sealed the deal for us: the number of toilets/showers; the fact that two out of the three bedrooms are twin bedrooms with not a bunk bed in sight and finally the parking. We took two cars, so we were able to park one car in front of the house using the coned-off space, and the other car was able to use the permit and park in the Three Peaks car park, a 2 minute walk away. The cones don't necessarily mean your space is guaranteed however. When we went out on the Saturday we popped back midday for five minutes, to find the cones on the pavement and a car parked in the space. Fortunately when we returned later in the day, the car had gone, and we were able to park in front once again. The kitchen is very well equipped, especially the crockery, cutlery and the glassware. Unfortunately, none of the saucepans have lids. There are plenty of utensils, but a wooden spoon would have been useful as well as a sharp carving knife. There is only one tea towel (two would have been ideal), and no hand towel, so we used a spare hand towel from one of the bedrooms. The information pack stated that the log burner would be set up ready to go - it wasn't. We managed to start the fire by stripping the bark off some of the logs and using scraps of paper we managed to accumulate between us all to use as kindling. Once we found the axe - which could do with a good sharpen - we were able to chop down some of the logs (of which there were plenty) - and we were off. There are no shaver points in the house, so those with electric toothbrushes/razors please take note. Had we known there wasn't we would have taken an adaptor. There are certainly plenty of other sockets in the house, some of which also incorporate USB charging slots. There are conflicting check-out times. The information pack in the house states you have to be out by 9, whereas all the emailed literature states 10am. As it happened we left just after 9.The local supermarket (Booths) in Settle is VERY expensive, so any future visitors should perhaps try and take as many provisions with them as possible, or find a cheaper supermarket elsewhere. Some sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and uht milk are provided in the kitchen. There was also salt, pepper, vinegar, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets in a container under the sink, but whether they were part of the package or had been left by previous occupants, we don't know.We found the information packs extremely useful, especially when it came to using the oven!On the whole we highly recommend this accommodation. The living space downstairs is nice and cosy with comfortable sofas, and a good dining area. There are plenty of games in the cupboard (we took our own), as well as some jigsaws and plenty of books. All the bedrooms are of a good size and the beds are very comfortable. The showers are great with plenty of hot water, and last but not least, the views are stunning!
