an old cottage in desperate need of some TLC however could have been wonderful at some point in time. location and views superb. extremely scruffy accommodation. many things needed repairing or replacing. The property is currently up for sale since summer 2025 by the owners, so i'm asuming they have no intention of doing any work on the property to rectify any problems. One of the settees had completely collapsed in the frame and the other was very old and uncomfortable. The kitchen door stuck fast on the old stone floor making it difficult to acces the tiny kitchen. That said, my stay was not expensive so I felt it was worth the inconvenience plus the bed and bedding was of very high quality.

This is a quirky cottage outside Grasmere with a beautiful view all around. The area is very peaceful. There are plenty hiking routes nearby and a Co-op supermarket in Grasmere. The cottage is 30 mins walking from the Grasmere town centre and 4 mins away by car. There are plenty car park choices in the town centre. The cottage had everything I needed and I would love to come back.

Beautiful location with acces to great walks. Sofa needs replacing as uncomfortable and broken. Kitchen door needs fixing. Lack of basics IE salt, pepper and toilet roll. My sister has 5 holiday cottages and always leaves a welcome pack with the basics. No kindling for wood burner. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.
