Primrose Cottage has been renovated to a high standard, with an open plan living area, incorporating a contemporary kitchen and a cosy sitting area. Comfortably furnished, there are two pretty bedrooms and a contemporary bathroom. With glorious views over open countryside, it provides a quiet rural retreat from which to enjoy the many nearby attractions, including the wonderful city of York and the excellent walking and cycling opportunities. The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

Location of the cottage is great for getting out and about. Malton has some great places to eat, Hidden Monkey Cafe and Florioâs Italian restaurant are just a couple we love. Close enough to the coast for a day out. The Blacksmiths Arms at Westow does an amazing Sunday Lunch, and The Bakehouse Coffee Shop at Scampston is perfect for coffee and cake or handmade chocolates. Ivan is a brilliant host and on hand if you need. A truly relaxing spot for a holiday.

There were a few points which I hope the owners won't mind us addressing, The radiator in the bathroom had a slight leak and this caused the bathroom floor to get extremely wet and slippy, there are a few marks on the walls and dents in the walls where previous guests had bashed the door handles into the wall causing little holes / dents, the main issue we had was the bathroom, It should really advise as a bath with step in the bath shower as we had an elderly family member who struggled with this due to the height of the bath, as there were no photos of the bathroom we didn't know and might of considered booking else where, lastly whil the hot tub was warm the jets didn't work correctly and it didnt justify the up charge if there not maintained. We sadly wouldn't return based on these issues, and we didn't feel it was value for money unfortunately.

We all really enjoyed our week at Prinrose cottage. Beautifully placed with stunning views. Amazingly quiet but yet still very well placed for surrounding areas. Ivan the host was great, showed us around then left us to it but was kind enough to pass us on some information as well. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable! The hot tub was the cleanest Iâve seen and checked during our stay. Weâve been to a lot of cottages with hot tubs but this was the cleanest, clearly a lot of hard work goes in to this! The kids loved the potato fields which were a lively purple colour during our stay. They were sad on the way home as they had to leave! Will return..
