Guests say

Dromore West Cottage is praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and cleanliness, with a lovely garden and a warm welcome from the host. It's well-situated for exploring the scenic coast and local walks, though some guests noted issues with heating, bedding comfort, and maintenance.

The majority of guests found the property to be clean and well taken care of, with all linen available for changes. One review mentioned a damp smell, which suggests a possible issue with ventilation or heating rather than cleanliness.

The cottage is appreciated for its quiet location, suitable for exploring nearby attractions and scenic walks. However, the distance to shops and pubs may be challenging for some, particularly the elderly.

Guests enjoyed the spaciousness and found the property generally comfortable. However, there were complaints about uncomfortable beds and insufficient heating, which affected the overall comfort level.

The property offers a range of facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and secure parking. Nonetheless, some guests reported issues with maintenance, such as broken window handles, a non-flushing toilet, and a lack of certain kitchen items.

While guests appreciated the warm welcome and the property's garden, there were no specific mentions of gifts or additional thoughtful touches that could be consistently evaluated. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.

So warm and friendly nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely 4 nights here, so peaceful wonderful garden for grandchildren to play. Excellent bade for our travels. We will be back but one bit advice and it's not nasty, please get new mattress for bed opposite kitchen, very old and uncomfortable, but apart from that just great.

Mrs Dowd was very prompt at meeting us and showing us around the property. The use of the Aga in the kitchen was to heat water for baths and washing up and we were asked not to meddle with it. The heating was insufficient, mornings were very cold as were the end part of the evening. The beds are very uncomfortable and the duvets/covers smelt musky. The cottage smells damp as soon as you open the front door, which I imagine is due to insufficient heating. Despite our best efforts we could not find the BBQ which we were looking forward to using when we had our family come and visit. We had to settle for a take away. There are two door keys on the keyring provided. One opened the front door, the other didn't seem to fit anywhere which meant we had no way of unlocking the door to the rear of the property. We didn't need to use it in the end, however, I would suggest that this is a hazard in case of a fire in the property. There were two hand towels provided for our use in the bathroom, whilst we are not 'big' people, a hand towel is never going to be adequate for drying after a shower. We located towels in the hallway cupboard and found two slightly larger ones. The two bins in the kitchen are for clean plastic/paper and the other for metal/tin. There was no bin for food scraps or general waste. The property is lacking in maintenance and comfort. The toilet doesn't flush properly and many of the windows are locked or the handles are broken. There were no batteries in the TV remote and a couple of light fittings are missing light bulbs. Dromore has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay but needs a large dose of love and attention.

Lovely quiet spot and the owner was fabulous guiding us in after dark and making us feel very welcome.
