Geographically, it is the perfect starting point for travellers who want to discover Galway, Mayo, and west Ireland. Ballinrobe, which is thought to be the oldest town in South Mayo and dates back to the 1300s, is bordered by numerous sites with archaeological, architectural, historical, and ecological interest. With miles of river fishing nearby and 60,000 acres of lough fishing, it is understandable why Ballinrobe is known as the lake angling capital of the west. The town also has a championship 18-hole golf course and has spring and summer horse racing events. We had a nice stay and would probably stay again.

As it’s a fairly old property it could do with some updating to furnishings and kitchen items. However fully suited us with safe outside space and serviceable furniture for our dogs. We had a few issues which owner sorted very quickly alongside recommending various places to visit. All in all a very successful and enjoyable holiday.
