When the weather is nice, head to Duncannon beach, a wonderful golden stretch which is the perfect place to spend the day swimming and sunbathing. Walkers will be eager to explore the Hook Peninsula where you can see some breathtaking views and landmarks including the world’s oldest working lighthouse, which was constructed in the 12th century, while history buffs will be drawn to the beautiful Tintern Abbey and Loftus Hall, which is believed to be one of Ireland’s most haunted houses. If it’s bustling city life you’re seeking, look no further than Waterford, home to House of Waterford Crystal Factory where you can tour the production of crystals from beginning to end, the Waterford Treasures: Medieval Museum and the magnificent Clock Tower where you can enrich your knowledge of the area’s historical architecture before indulging in a hearty meal or cold beverage in one of several pubs. However you decide to spend your time, Shepherds Walk provides a charming setting for your county Wexford adventure.

The picturesque fishing village of Duncannon is situated in southwest County Wexford, and is dominated by Duncannon Fort, which sits on a rocky outcrop jutting into the channel. Waterford Harbour lies to the west and the golden sandy beach is popular for swimming and sunbathing. The International Sand Sculpting Festival is a village highlight each year. With a couple of pubs and restaurants and a children’s playground by the beach, Duncannon is a lovely place for a quiet seaside holiday. Catch a ferry to the beaches and watersports of Dunmore East, shop for traditional crystal in Waterford, enjoy the music of Wexford Festival Opera each October or explore some of the historic houses, beautiful gardens and lovely walks in this wonderful part of Ireland. No plug in kitchen sink and no tea towels(these are basic) The bed was uncomfortable so was the lounge suite The owners have to remember it may be a holiday but you need to be comfortable We went home with backache. apart from this it was a great spot to holiday and see Wexford .Our dogs had a ball Susanne

To unlock the frontdoor was difficult ( we even sent Jana a message) When we went out for dinner on arrival day it was almost impossible to lock the door. Only with 'force' we locked it. Next morning we discovered a spraycan WD in the hall toilet. We sprayed the lock and it went smooth again. No further problems with the lock whole week.
