Head to the attractive town of Kenmare, 5½ miles away. This picturesque town has so much to offer with its excellent shops, cafes, delis, and restaurants so it’s perfect for picking up daily provisions and stopping off for lunch or dinner. We recommend visiting the Bronze Age stone circle, just a 10 minute walk from the town centre, this is actually one of the largest stone circles in South West Ireland. Kenmare has even been cited as one of Europe’s most beautiful small towns by CNN Travel. From here you’re well placed for touring some of Ireland’s most magnificent scenery on the Ring of Kerry or Beara Peninsula. The peaceful glens and streams of Gleninchaquin are perfect for a picnic followed by a walk along the Kenmare section of the Beara Way.
