Guests say

Patty's Cottage in Caherciveen offers a cosy and comfortable stay with stunning views and a host praised for exceptional hospitality. Guests appreciate the pet-friendly environment, the proximity to scenic walks and local amenities, and the thoughtful touches like Christmas decorations and complimentary passes to Kerry Cliffs. While some guests suggest the decor could be updated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a homely base to explore the beauty of Kerry.

The majority of guests describe the cottage as spotlessly clean, indicating a high level of cleanliness. One mention of a damp smell and uncleaned oven suggests room for improvement, but these appear to be isolated comments.

The location is consistently praised for its stunning views, proximity to local attractions like the Kerry Cliffs, and ease of access to nearby towns and scenic spots. It is considered an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, particularly noting the multi-fuel stove and homely atmosphere. However, some guests mention that the heating is limited to electric heaters, which may not reach all areas of the house.

There is insufficient information to accurately score the facilities and maintenance. While some guests are satisfied with the facilities, others suggest the decor and furnishings could be updated, and there are mentions of a dishwasher without instructions and a need for more teaspoons.

The host, Marie, is frequently mentioned for her thoughtfulness, providing basic provisions upon arrival and complimentary passes to local attractions. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Unable to find instructions for dishwasher. Would have been helpfull to know there is a resident cat. There was dog poo on the front lawn when we arrived which wasnt cleared up all week that we were there.

Be mindful that you must pay for electricity when you check out, and only heating is available with electricity. You can light a stove in the sitting room but heat would not reach the rest of the house. Damp smell in rooms and rotten radiators etc. Oven has never been cleaned. Marie is nice.
