Immaculately clean, lovely warm and welcoming, even in the middle of winter. Secluded, quiet location not far from local village and amenities Incredibly helpful, friendly owner and owners pets. An absolute joy to stay and we hope to return.

The rural setting was fabulous and the resident dogs and horses made for a very homey experience. Overall outstanding cottage for exploring that part of County Cavan.

It's been beautifully decorated in the main room and had most of what we needed for cooking, relaxing etc. Our toddler absolutely loved the animals and wanted to say hello to the horses every morning. The owners also left a travel cot and bedding, which was very helpful - thank you! The only thing that brought it down a star was that we assume the dog has been trained as a guard dog and it was, unfortunately, not very pleasant to arrive back to the cottage after dark. One night in particular, he wouldn't let me get back to our car, which was a scary experience. We completely understand the need for a guard dog at a remote location, but we'd advise the owners to keep him inside when you have guests, especially if they have young children who were frightened.
