There are so many photo opportunities from inside this extraordinary fifth floor palazzo apartment. Lean back against the curved French balcony with a backdrop of one of the most exclusive views in Rome and keep this romantic memory forever. Look down towards the Fontana della Barcaccia in Piazza di Spagna and turn your gaze towards the Spanish Steps, the widest and longest staircase in Europe which connects the square with the beautiful church and bell towers of Trinità dei Monti.
Each of the four bedrooms enjoys this view as well as luxurious en suite Italian marble bathrooms with whirlpool baths - the master bedroom also has its own private sitting area. The apartment is elegantly furnished combining striking modern features with classical style.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious lounge and dining area, alongside which stretches the romantic, plant entwined terrace with al-fresco dining table and comfortable lounging chairs.
Pre-book the butler and private dinner service and treat yourselves to a meal beneath the terrace awning, listening to the sounds of the square beyond and watching the ochre colours of the city deepen as the sun sets.
Venture outside and take the few steps to Piazza di Spagna, a gathering place for artists, musicians and travellers over the centuries. Explore your prestigious neighbourhood, browse in the designer shops of Via Condotti or take a break in the tranquil natural surroundings of nearby Borghese Gardens.
Steps of Rome is in a charming and convenient location near so many of the city’s tourist sights. Wish for luck when you throw a coin into the Trevi fountain, marvel at the Pantheon, conjure up fearsome gladiators at the Colosseum and head to unmissable Vatican City with all its treasures. There are plenty of other fascinating areas of the city to explore so just take a wander and find some hidden delights.
Take a break from the city - there are day trips to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast or, more locally, wine and food tasting tours in the Roman countryside and bike and walking tours along the Appian Way, one of the most important roads of the ancient republic. Wherever you go, you are sure to want to return to your luxury apartment in the centre of this glorious city.
Steps of Rome has a fabulous central location on a prestigious street in one of the finest cities in Europe. Part of a collection of apartments, the penthouse can be found on the fifth floor of a historic palazzo whilst buffet breakfast and the concierge service are in the main part of the building.
As soon as you step out, you are surrounded by high-end boutiques and just a few strides away from the Fontana della Barcaccia as well as the Spanish Steps leading up to the stunning Trinità dei Monti.
Rome is filled with layers of history from Roman ruins to Renaissance art. It is also home to fantastic food and fine wine so join the locals in the bars and cafes for a traditional evening aperitivo before eating at one of Rome’s fine restaurants, pizzerias or trattorias.
Head to the photogenic Spanish Steps, take tea at the famous Babington Tearooms or visit the house and museum where romantic English poet Keats lived and died. For a change of atmosphere, call into Via Margutta, a charming street with ivy covered homes, small art galleries and antique shops, made famous by cinematic stars Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in their 1953 film “Roman Holiday”.
The Trevi Fountain (700m), designed by Nicola Salvi, is the largest Baroque fountain in the city, where you can try throwing a coin backwards into the water for good luck before having coffee and cake in the pretty Piazza. Take the short walk from here to the fantastically preserved Pantheon.
Walk in the footsteps of Julius Caesar at the Roman Forum, be overwhelmed by the Colosseum and take in the views from Palatine Hill, where Romulus and Remus were found in a cave.
Vatican City contains a host of treasures including St Peter’s Basilica and Michelangelo’s glorious frescoes on the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. A short distance away, on the right bank of the Tiber, is Hadrian’s tomb or Castel Sant’Angelo, connected in 1277 to the Vatican City as an escape route for The Pope.
Get up early for a walk around a quieter city centre before the tourists arrive or head to the market square at Campo de’ Fiori and down a side street to Arco degli Acetari, a hidden courtyard of picturesque houses. Take a walking tour that guides you “off the beaten track” or enjoy the peaceful Borghese Gardens, a lovely place to walk.
