The exclusive Farfalla Apartment has a central location in one of the most beautiful cities of the world with views of Piazza di Spagna, Via Condotti and the iconic Spanish Steps from its pretty wraparound balcony. Rome is a city of vibrant piazzas, exquisite churches and archaeological treasures with a fascinating history of over 2,800 years.
The third floor luxury air conditioned palazzo apartment has three en suite double bedrooms, all with superbly comfortable king-sized beds and two with gorgeous views over the square. The apartment benefits from a sitting room and is elegantly furnished, successfully combining striking modern features with a graceful classical style. Make the most of the available private butler service and request that dinner be served in your own formal dining area next to the lovely curved French balcony. If you prefer to prepare your own feasts, there is a well-equipped modern kitchen.
Step outside and wander round the bustling Piazza di Spagna with its famous Fontana della Barcaccia and Keats-Shelley Memorial House. Walk up The Spanish Steps, the widest and longest staircase in Europe, leading to the beautiful church of Trinità dei Monti. Explore the prestigious designer shops of Via Condotti or take a stroll to the tranquil beauty of nearby Borghese Gardens.
Farfalla Apartment is in a wonderful location near so many of the city’s famous sites. Wish for luck as you throw a coin backwards into the Trevi fountain, gaze in wonder at the Pantheon and the Roman Forum, use your imagination at the Colosseum and spend time absorbing the remarkable history in Vatican City. There are many other delightful areas of the city to explore so abandon your tourist guide for a while and find some hidden gems.
The adventurous are sure to enjoy an electric bike tour or a night-time Segway excursion. For a day trip away from the city, there is Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast or, if you want to stay more local, wine tasting tours in the Roman countryside or bike and walking tours along the Appian Way. Wherever you go, you are sure to want to return to your luxury and exclusive apartment in the centre of this glorious city.
Farfalla Apartment has a great central location on a prestigious street in one of the finest cities in Europe. Part of a collection of apartments, the penthouse can be found on the third floor of a historic palazzo whilst the reception and concierge service are in the main part of the building. As soon as you step out, you are surrounded by high-end boutiques and just a few strides away from the Fontana della Barcaccia as well as the Spanish Steps leading up to the stunning Trinità dei Monti.
Rome is filled with historical treasures but it’s also renowned for its fantastic food and fine wine. Mingle with the locals in the bars and cafes for a traditional evening aperitivo before eating at one of Rome’s fine restaurants, pizzerias or trattorias.
It’s easy to start your Roman tour by stepping outside to visit the Spanish Steps, maybe taking tea at the English Babington Tearooms or visiting the home of the romantic poet, Keats. Then try throwing a coin backwards into The Trevi Fountain, around 700m away, before ordering coffee and a slice of cake in the pretty piazza. It is only a short stroll from here to some more serious sightseeing at the Pantheon.
Enjoy a peaceful walk in the vast parkland of the Borghese Gardens, under a kilometre away, a lovely place to enjoy some green space where you may even hear some harp and guitar music. It contains several museums, the National Gallery of Modern Art or you may prefer to hire a rowing boat on the lake.
A little further afield, Vatican City is filled with treasures like St Peter’ Basilica and Michelangelo’s ceiling frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Nearby is Hadrian’s tomb or Castel Sant’Angelo, connected in 1277 to the Vatican City as an escape route for The Pope.
Walk in the footsteps of so many legendary figures at the Roman Forum and imagine ancient fights at the Colosseum, one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World”.
Try something different by getting up early and walking in a quieter city without the bustle of tourists. Head to the market square at Campo de’ Fiori and take the side street into Arco degli Acetari, a hidden courtyard of picture postcard houses. Take a walking tour that guides you “off the beaten track” or visit artistic Travatere with its cobbled streets and great bars and restaurants.
For a speedy view of the city, take an electric bike tour or walk along the Appian Way (9km). There are day trips to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, Positano and the Amalfi coast, beaches near Fiumicino and some enjoyable food and wine tasting tours in the Roman countryside.
