A striking emerald-green house. Comfortably sleeping eight guests across three well-appointed bedrooms, The Prickly Pear House makes the perfect base for guests to explore the beautiful island of Gozo.
Access to this house-of-character is through an alley on the left-hand side off the main San Lawrenz road. The Prickly Pear House has been beautifully renovated to provide all modern amenities, yet retaining the character and style of the original house. Upon entrance a wide-open plan area invites you gently to discover this holiday home. A fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with a large six-seater dining table and emerald-green apertures along with two green sofa-beds complement perfectly the honey-coloured limestone and the authentic yellowish tiles. A TV with limitless world-wide channels, live streaming and video-on-demands and a log fire place ensures time well-spent with family and friends while cooking exquisite dinners.
Venture up the beautifully traditional limestone stairs to find three well-appointed bedrooms, each with their own private en-suite bathrooms for maximum comfort. The first bedroom has a wonderful king-sized bed with a window overlooking the alley and an en-suite equipped with a combined bath and overhead shower. The next bedroom has two comfortable single beds and a shower en-suite. Finally, the last bedroom has a beautiful king-sized bed and a shower en-suite. It is fair to say, a stay at The Prickly Pear House promises some of the best nights sleep after an adventure filled day.
Climb the spiral limestone staircase to discover an amazing roof terrace, with charcoal grill, an outdoor 6-seater table, sink, toilet and a mini fridge and the highlight of this property being the V-shaped private pool with Jacuzzi Jets and Fountain where spectacular country views can be enjoyed.
Located next to The Lavender House, The Ramla Red House and The Marigold House. The Prickly Pear House is nestled in a distinctive charming alleyway that reminisce past Gozitan life. Whilst guests may relax and feel disconnected, The Prickly Pear House is situated just off the main road to one of the most sought-after areas on the island; the unesco World Heritage Site of ‘Dwejra’.
The Prickly Pear House is situated in the western part of Gozo, in the charming traditional village of San Lawrenz. This picturesque village has succeeded in retaining its traditional, rural lifestyle, making it the perfect place to stay in Gozo. San Lawrenz has an array of shops and restaurants serving delicious Gozitan food and wine. From the village square in San Lawrenz, visitors can take the road down to Dwejra Bay where history lovers will enjoy discovering old chapels and learn about the well-preserved watch tower which dates all the way back to 1652. Dwejra also boasts of several natural wonders, foremost of which is ‘Fungus Rock’, the ‘Azure Window’ and the ‘Inland Sea’.
Enjoy the slower pace of life and soak up the Gozitan sun. Just a short distance away you will find Xlendi Beach. The crystal clear waters overlooked by cliffs makes the perfect setting. Spend the days swimming, snorkelling or even diving. In fact, Gozo is known as a popular diving spot, great for first timers and experienced divers too. Swim with schools of colourful fish through the networks of undersea caves and sunken wwii bombers! Rambla Bay is another must visit, featuring long stretches of striking red sand, young children will enjoy playing on the beach and splashing in the water under the watchful eyes of lifeguards. Options for water sports here are never ending… paddleboarding, kayaking, tubing, wakeboarding or water-skiing!
There are some great hikes on Gozo that let you see the peaceful countryside, peppered with remarkable geological features begging to be explored. Enjoy the hike from Xaghra to Rambla Bay or challenge yourselves and hike up to the Sanap Cliffs. Each hike is bound to reward you with captivating views. Afterwards, find a spot to eat some delicious, fresh Gozitan food. The locals are well known for their incredible hospitality, encouraging visitors to come back time and time again.

Beautiful house with lovely features. Even though the house was cool, we still paid extra for the air conditioning as we had 35 degrees outside. It was well worth it for a comfortable night’s sleep. There were a couple of plumbing issues, which Kevin, the manager sorted as soon as we reported them. He was very helpful and responsive. We could only get Wi-Fi downstairs, it didn’t reach to the upper floors. The swimming pool area was wonderful and very quiet and private. There are a distinct lack of essentials in the kitchen and we had to do a big shop when we first arrived for basic items. It cost us a lot of money as the supermarkets were not cheap, even the Lidl down the road was expensive. We also found the local restaurants expensive, it wasn’t a cheap holiday. Lots to do in the area and you definitely need a car. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very beautiful house with a big pool, friendly and quick answering host and the bus stop is about 20 meters away. My friends and I really recommend this house.
