Casa Trafalgar is a large and rustic villa in Zahora, Costa de la Luz, suited for up to twelve guests. Complete with a spa, annexe and salt-water swimming pool, and just seven hundred metres from the stunning Zahora beach, it’s the perfect place to enjoy an authentic Andalusian experience on the calmer south Atlantic side of Spain.
Arriving at the villa, you’ll find a secure gated parking area for your car, with enough space for two vehicles. From here, you head straight out into the open garden area. In front of you, you’ll find the pergola, a shaded area to relax, dine and cook with the help of the wood-fired oven, kamado grill, gas hob, sink and fridge. Looking around, you’ll find the rest of the garden and the sparkling salt-water pool with 7 sun lounges together with the wooden shaded relax bench under the pergola, the concrete porch dining table and benches and the smaller concrete benches/table on the pool deck give the needed amount of relax options. Behind the pool next to the main house, you’ll see the annexe, and on the other side, you’ll find the spa area. The spa area features a stone crafted private outdoor shower, hot/cold tub and incredible firewood sauna that comes with a complimentary bag of firewood. The spa area also has a complete bathroom consisting of a shower, toilet and wash basin.
Moving inside through the porch, you enter straight into the wide and open living space. The slate flooring and wooden beams provide a traditional, cosy feel whilst still feeling open and bright. In this space, you have the kitchen, dining and living area with a charming fireplace, featuring a large wooden dining room, U-shaped sofa and plasma screen television. In the main house, you’ll find the master bedroom and twin bedroom downstairs, and upstairs the gallery houses three more single beds. The bathroom, also downstairs, is complete with a double sink, rain shower and toilet.
To the side of the house, you'll find the annexe, which has both indoor and outdoor options. Downstairs has a double bed and a bunk bed and comes with a kitchenette and a small bathroom. Upstairs is the sundeck which can be accessed from the outside stairs, with both shaded and unshaded areas. Here you can relax on the comfortable loungers or cook and dine with the use of one of the many outdoor appliances
Casa Trafalgar is situated in the middle of the Costa de la Luz on the Atlantic side of Spain, running from Tarifa in the south up to the Guadiana River, which marks the border of Portugal. Better known as a vacation place for Spaniards, it has become increasingly popular amongst foreigners over recent years. As a result, the area now caters more towards tourists but still holds firmly onto its rich and vibrant Andalusian culture.
Being situated in Zahora, your nearest attraction (just seven hundred metres away) is the beach, Playa de Zahora. There you’ll find water sports available such as surfing and windsurfing, and there is also the option to go out into the Atlantic for whale and dolphin watching.
The region is rocky and mountainous, providing plenty of room for activities inland such as horse-riding, canyoning, trekking and mountain biking. You’ll also find several golf courses scattered all over the region.
Ten kilometres north is the nearest major town, Conil de la Frontera, one of the many white towns of Andalusia. Here you’ll find some more exceptional sandy beaches and some charming places to eat and relax. Further inland is the stunning hillside town of Vejer. It’s a wonderful place to take in the Arabic architecture and eat some mouth-watering Andalusian food.
The major tourist attractions of the wider region, besides the many white towns and villages, can be found in Cadiz, the main city of Costa de la Luz. There you’ll find the fascinating Torre Tavira, an eighteenth-century watchtower at the highest point in the city, which features Spain’s first-ever camera obscura. There is also the immense Catedral de Cadiz with its impressive gold dome and, for the foodies, the Mercado Central, famous for some of the freshest seafood in all Spain.
Perhaps Andalusia’s greatest attraction lies not far from Cadiz in the town of Jerez de la Frontera: The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Home of the world-renowned “dancing horses”, this tremendous building houses one of the most spectacular displays of equestrian activity in the world. It’s well and truly a once in a lifetime experience.

We were 9 people and had the most wonderful experience. The villa is beautiful and maintained to an extremely high-standard. The bedrooms are comfortable with effective air conditioning. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook for everyone including sharp knives, plenty of cutlery and cooking utensils. What we love about this place is that there are a number of spots to hide away with a book if you're needing peace, and more communal areas for socialising with your friends. Wi-fi is great, there are so many areas for barbecuing, making pizzas, sunbathing. There are lovely bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, beautiful walks and the beach is a short walk for a sunset cocktail. This is a peaceful area, no crazy nightlife which suits us perfectly. It's sometimes hard to imagine that you're not the only people enjoying this glorious location because it is so tranquil. I really don't want to recommend this place as it's so good we want to keep this secret to ourselves. But got to share the love! Our happy place in the world!

Our experience in Casa Trafalgar was just great. The house has everything it needs and is very well equipped. There are many nice corners where you can retreat well, but also many places where you can come together as a group. The beach is only a few minutes' walk away. There are several barbecue stations, a wonderful roof terrace, several outdoor kitchens. For us it was just perfect. The surroundings are very idyllic and beautiful.
