Manacor is an excellent holiday destination for those seeking a mix of culture, nature, and relaxation. Located in eastern Mallorca, it offers easy access to beautiful beaches, charming villages, and scenic countryside. History enthusiasts can explore ancient Talaiotic sites and the Municipal Archaeological Museum, while shoppers will enjoy the town’s famous pearl factories and local markets. Manacor is also a gateway to the Caves of Drach in nearby Porto Cristo, a stunning underground wonder. With its variety of restaurants, cultural attractions, and outdoor activities, Manacor is an ideal base for discovering the best of Mallorca’s eastern coast.
Notable historic sights included prehistoric Talaiotic remains like S’Hospitalet Vell, a significant ancient village, and megalithic structures at S’Illot Son Vaquer and Son Ribot. Along the Manacor to Sant Llorenç road, the ruins of Son Pereto, a former chapel with intricate mosaics, reflect the area’s early Christian heritage. These artifacts can be seen at the Municipal Archaeological Museum. Other highlights include the Torre des Falcons in Porto Cristo, the remains of the Manacor Royal Palace, and the neo-Gothic Church of Sorrows. The restored cloister of Saint Vicente Ferrer, a National Monument, is also a must-see.
