Lovers of history and architecture are sure to want to visit the city’s 14th-century cathedral during their stay, especially as it’s considered an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the city. Built atop an old mosque, the cathedral is one of the most beautiful on the island, bursting with light, decorative elements, and beautiful stained glass windows that create colourful patterns on the stone when the sun streams through. Guests should note that the entrance fee includes access to the cloisters - so be sure to hold on to your ticket once you’ve entered the cathedral. Admission for children under the age of 12 is free, and ‘appropriate dress and behaviour’ is required, as the cathedral is an active place of worship.  

Playa Cala Blanca is the main beach here, a golden sandy stretch that is a fabulous location for enjoying some of the best sunsets in the Med and a great spot for spending a day soaking up the sun. The beach is popular with families thanks to its warm, calm, clear waters, soft sands, and amenities that include sun-lounger and umbrella hire, as well as with those who love to snorkel! There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby for refreshments, as well as gift shops - and even an Irish pub!
