I was a little apprehensive about it's suitability for young children when I looked at the photographs but our two and a half year old grand-daughter managed all the stairs very well. The extra toys in the cupboard were also much appreciated. We loved the village too. Sadly we had a family health crisis this weekend so only half our party could arrive and I feel sad that the other grandchildren missed the experience. Perhaps we will book for them in future.

The house was beautifully presented and perfect for our stay. The communication before arrival was also enormously helpful.

We were a bit surprised when we first arrived at the layout, especially since my husband had currently got some mobility problems. We decided to use the basement bedroom because of this, and, to be fair, the description does mention that this bedroom has fewer stairs and would be best for less mobile visitors. We enjoyed our stay and got used to the many stairs. However, I do feel that there were a couple of issues with the description on the Sykes site. I don't think you can really say that the dining room table is "positioned in the nearby open-plan living/dining room" when the said table is up quite a lot of stairs to the next floor up. The basement bathroom certainly needs a grab rail as the floor is lethal for anyone, let alone someone elderly. No non slip bath mat provided. There was one to share with 2 other bathrooms. And we had to take 2 picnic chairs and a bean bag with us as there are certainly not 'sumptuous seats' enough for 10 adults if the house is full. We did feed back these comments and the owners were lovely and said they would take the comments on board. I would still recommend the house as it is very lovely, and the other bedrooms were beautiful. Also the perfect base from which to visit so many lovely places.
