... a mile from Membury, sitting peacefully among surrounding country lanes looking over a scenic valley, is pretty, Grade II listed Lea Hill. A Quaker farm and meeting place for much of the time since its 14th cent. origins, the thatched Devon long house and its former barns now accommodate the helpful owners and six attractive cottages, of which we let two.
Each cottage has a small sunny seating area (table/benches) for enjoying superb long views and shares the surrounding 7 acres of beautifully kept communal grounds (thatched summer house, barbecue area). Spring water. Shared laundry room (washer-driers). A tranquil spot in a beautiful rural setting close to Dorset’s famous ‘Jurassic Coast’.
Quakers: a thatched, semi-detached cottage. Galley kitchen (slimline dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, freezer, fridge) with fitted table/chairs, tiled floor and door to lawned seating area. Cosy living room (TV/DVD) with electric ‘living flame’ fire. Upstairs, two pretty bedrooms with original beams – a double (5’6” door lintel) with neat en suite shower-room (suite), and, down 2 small steps, a twin (linkable to 6’ double) with lovely valley views, stripped pine floors and en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath).
