The actual castle was amazing and having the space in the grounds was wonderful for the younger people in our party. We were not happy with the fact that the shower on the ground floor did not work - it did on ONE day but this was a known problem and we were not notified of it. This was difficult for myself, having limited mobility, as the baths were too high for me to negotiate (not easy for able-bodied people either!) and with the shower out of action.... I did once negotiate the stairs to the upper floors, but VERY difficult. I just think this should be pointed out in the details. We were informed there would be toiletries - so I informed the other members of our party but all there was were hand wash bottles. There seemed to be a problem with the oven temperature as well. A 6oclock meal ended up at 8 Having griped at these, we enjoyed being there. I have already contacted staff at rural retreats and sent an e mail as they requested.
