Located in a charming Derbyshire village midway between Belper and Matlock, this beautifully converted former mill makes a relaxing retreat for six guests. This delightful property lies in a secluded spot perfect for glimpsing some of the local wildlife which visits the garden and pond. Just a few miles from the Peak District National Park, this pretty holiday home is ideal for families and friends exploring the villages, market towns and woodlands of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. With stone flooring, exposed beams and a wood burner, the kitchen is perfect for preparing a favourite meal, with plenty of space to relax as well. The spacious dining room is ideal for everyone to gather and chat about the day. Upstairs, the first floor features a characterful lounge with wooden flooring, open fire and smart TV, providing a lovely space to unwind. Also on the first floor is a shower room and a super-king-size bedroom with charming views. Two further bedrooms are on the second floor: a super-king-size room and a king-size room with exposed beams and stonework. Outside is an enclosed patio garden and half an acre of natural garden which is not enclosed and the owners focus their efforts on providing a haven for local wildlife. There is a large wildlife pond where children and pets should be supervised, and the mature garden features a couple of secluded seating areas providing tranquil spots for hearing the stream passing over the nearby waterfall. The market towns of Belper (4 miles) and Matlock (8 miles) have plenty of great pubs, shops and restaurants, and are ideal for exploring the Peak District and Derwent Valley. Local attractions include Crich Tramway Village, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Heage Windmill, Belper River Gardens, Harborough Rocks and the Heights of Abraham (all within 8 miles), Carsington Water (12 miles) and Chatsworth House (18 miles).
