Kirk Ireton 1.2 miles. A splendid first floor barn conversion, placed delightfully near to Kirk Ireton in Derbyshire. With the cosy living and rural location, this is the ideal cottage for outdoor enthusiasts to come and enjoy a holiday in the country. The property is next door to the owners, and up a flight of external stairs. Enter into The Ivy Barn and be welcomed into the fabulous open plan living area. It has a stylish, well-equipped kitchen and a fantastic original sitting area boasting lots of wooden beams and brickwork, with charming features to make you feel right at home. There is ample seating for dining and for relaxing when you're not out in this incredible area. Both of the bedrooms are well-presented and cosy under the sloping ceiling, they have pleasant linen and lovely views. The interior of The Ivy Barn is fulfilled with a family shower room. Outside there is extensive fields with wonderful views and even Casington Water within a stones' throw which offers watersports facilities. Kirk Ireton village centre isn't far away, it offers the essentials that you will need for your stay along with beautiful 17th century buildings and a Norman church. This cottage comes very close to the Peak District National Park, in which you can visit stunning towns like Matlock and Bakewell, or you can make the most of the walking, cycling and wildlife that it has to offer. The Ivy Cottage is an excellent cottage in a beautiful location.
Kirk Ireton is a village in the Derbyshire countryside on the borders of the Peak District National Park, 4 miles from Wirksworth. Kirk Ireton is made up of sandstone buildings, many date back to the 17th century, the oldest of which is the pub. Kirk Ireton is home to a Norman church and the village is perfect for a stroll around and soaking up the history. Nearby Wirksworth is a town on the edge of the White Peak, full of character with buildings of architectural interest including a church. Visitors will enjoy exploring the ancient jitties and courtyards, and the National Stone Centre, as well as the countryside including Carsington Water and the High Peak Trail. Rock climbing and cycling can be enjoyed herel, there is good walking. Well Dressing is unique to Derbyshire, and Wirksworth combines this tradition with a lively carnival.
