The Silverbirch Room is a well-received cottage with guests praising its unique and cosy decor, featuring natural wood and a wood burner. The property offers a serene patio with wildlife views, and Steve, the owner, is commended for his friendliness and helpfulness. Guests enjoy the convenient location with easy access to local pubs and transport.
Guests have not reported any issues with cleanliness, and the mention of a 'pristine' interior suggests a very high standard of cleanliness.
The location is appreciated for its access to wildlife and local amenities, though one mention of road noise slightly detracts from the perfect score.
The property is described as cosy and comfortable, particularly noting the bed and wood burner, although one guest experienced a cold night due to a lack of knowledge on how to use the wood burner.
Facilities are well-regarded with mentions of a good wood burner, a rotating TV, and a well-equipped property. However, the lack of initial guidance on using the wood burner for one guest slightly lowers the score.
Steve's hospitality, including a welcome pack and fresh eggs, is highly praised, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this is noted for guests' expectations.

Within easy walking distance of a couple of pubs that serve food or cosy up in front the wood burner for a perfect night in. It is very well kitted out, and the decor is fab, with lots of reclaimed materials used. The silverbirch tree through the centre of the room is pretty cool. It is very comfortable throughout. Steve was a great host, on-hand to answer questions both in person and via phone calls or texts, and he was more than happy to show us how to use the log burner and where all the different switches were for all the light options. Being able to spin the TV around to watch it from any angle is a really cool feature. The woodland area out back belongs to the Owner, so we were able to go for a long walk and explore the land, bumping into a small herd of deer who promptly ran away from us, but it was pretty cool to see them all the same. Only reason I haven't given this a 5-star rating is that we weren't able to meet Steve on arrival due to us arriving later than expected (although we were able to get in the room fine!) - this meant we didn't know how to use the log burner, and it was the coldest night of 2023 so far, so the temperature did drop in the property overnight and it was cold in the morning when we woke up (no fault of the owner, purely ours).
