Stables Cottage receives high praise for its tranquil setting, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests enjoy the rural charm, proximity to walking trails and historic sites, and the unique experience of staying on a working stable. The thoughtful touches by the owners, including a welcome cake, add to the delightful stay. The property is well-suited for families, horse enthusiasts, and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'extremely clean'. This indicates a high standard of cleanliness maintained by the property.
The location is frequently praised for its beauty and tranquility, with easy access to walking trails, Rutland Water, and historic sites. The rural setting in a livery yard adds a unique charm that guests appreciate.
Comfort is a highlight, with guests finding the cottage 'cosy', 'comfortable', and 'homely'. The presence of comfortable beds and a warm atmosphere contributes to the high comfort level experienced by visitors.
Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, and additional amenities like underfloor heating and a selection of DVDs and games. However, there is a minor note about the sofa's comfort and a mention of difficulty with the oven, slightly affecting the score.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through personal touches like welcome cakes and fresh flowers. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is noted that such gifts, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
A modern, homely semi-detached barn conversion located on the grounds of a working riding school and livery yard between the tranquil villages of East Norton and Hallaton in Leicestershire. A simple yet comforting layout, the accommodation provides plenty of room inside and out, along with a view of the unforgettable surrounding Leicester countryside. With the village being home to around 100 people, it is the perfect location for a quiet family break away from the hustle and bustle, with excellent walking, cycling and horse riding. The one-door entry into Stables Cottage takes you straight into the spacious utility/bootroom with Belfast sink and work surface, this is followed by the modernized kitchen diner which flows nicely into the sitting room, boasting a superb view of the surrounding open countryside and the patio garden. Substantially sized WC and bedroom with two single beds complete the downstairs. Heading to the refreshingly decorated upstairs, a large, wooden-floored landing is revealed with yet another astonishing view of the area. Two enormous bedrooms stand upstairs along with a similarly sized bathroom. A car park sits at the front of the house, with room for at least four cars. The back garden presents an enclosed paved area with surrounding gravel, the perfect place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Less than two miles away is the picturesque village of Hallaton.
