Guests say

Samphire is a well-regarded cottage praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and proximity to the beach. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen and the property's suitability for relaxed family holidays. While parking can be challenging and the garden requires attention, the overall experience is positive, with many guests willing to return.

The property is consistently described as clean and well-kept, with only a minor incident of finding clothes left behind in a drawer. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive guest experiences.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach and local amenities. It is considered a great spot for walks and enjoying the seaside, although parking difficulties have been noted by some guests.

Guests find the property comfortable overall, with well-decorated rooms and comfy beds. However, there are remarks about a problematic bed with a ridge and another on a slant, which affected the quality of sleep for at least one guest.

The property is well-equipped with a stocked kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Some guests suggested improvements in garden maintenance and outdoor seating comfort. The mention of weak WiFi signal indicates room for improvement in this area.

While guests have expressed appreciation for the property and its amenities, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

Situated in Anderby Creek, near the quaint village of Chapel St Leonards in Lincolnshire, is this single-storey cottage, Samphire. Paces away from the beach, whilst featuring bespoke, rustic furniture, nautical themed furnishings, a bright and spacious open-plan living space, an enclosed suntrap garden, and flexible sleeping arrangements, Samphire welcomes five guests and two well-behaved dogs, ideal for a seascape. Enveloped by sand dunes, enjoy the private and secluded rear garden, pet-friendly and perfect for alfresco dining, before benefitting from a fully-equipped kitchen and living space, where you can dine, recount your daily plans and flick on your favourite series. Three well-presented bedrooms are on offer, including a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a small double, and a twin, all with hanging facilities and within proximity to the main, sleek shower room. Rejuvenate ahead of a day at the local beach, which has been voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the country, or perhaps before a cold beer or prosecco at the Beach Cafe or Poppas Bar, with a neighbouring convenience store to ease your stay. Surrounding your new home-from-home, enjoy a relax upon Anderby Creek Beach, or perhaps a dip to wash off your sandy toes, a visit to Farmer Borwns Ice Cream Parlour for a sweet treat, or maybe hike to North Sea Observatory, overlooking the shoreline of Chapel Point. Travelling towards Skegness, discover Natureland Seal Sanctuary, encounter a thrill-seeking day out at Skegness Pleasure Beach, home to an arcade, mini golf, and rollercoasters, or tour the local shoreline upon Eptons Donkey Rides. A car journey away, to Mablethorpe, set up shop upon the resident beach, meet an array of meerkats, seals, and primates at The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre, or grab your walking boots, and trek across the Sutton Branch Line Walkway, setting you up for a nature-filled day. Be sure to venture over to the Lincolnshire Wolds for excellent walking and cycling opportunities, along with some of the best views in the area.

To the north of Chapel St. Leonards and to the south of Sanidlands, in the Lincolnshire Coastal Park, is the picturesque beachfront hamlet of Anderby Creek. Well-known for its seven miles of golden sands stretching from Sandilands to Chaperl Point, the hamlet is a popular getaway for people interested in exploring a region rich in wildlife along the coast. The beach is beautiful, there is a convenient store, a cute cafe, and a fun bar called Poppa's. The Ship Inn and The Admiral Benbow are two restaurants worth checking out in Chapel St. Leonards, which is also home to a recreation centre where you can rent motorcycles, quad bikes, and even play crazy golf just outside of town. Fantasy Island, Ingoldmells Beach, and the warm hospitality of Woody's Bar & Restaurant, The Moody Cow, and Vincent's Restaurant can all be found in the neighbouring town of Ingoldmells. Couples, families, and groups of friends have a lot of fun and relaxation alternatives to choose from at the coastal park with its coastal trails, art installations, and excellent beachside cafes.

The Beach Cafe is next door and does a fab breakfast and also does takeaways. It closes at 17:30 so there's no noise in the evenings. Popas bar and restaurant further down the road is great too. Only a minor issue in the property was lack of crockery, just 2 dinner plates and 3 pasta bowls. N.B. bring mozzie repellent as we were bitten a few times but it didn't spoil our holiday. Would love to return again to Samphire!

Just a couple of recommendations to consider the WiFi wasn't a strong signal and we appreciated having the use of the highchair would be great if a portable cot bed may be added in the future. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samphire and I am sure we will return in the future.
