Wren Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and idyllic location in a peaceful village near Rutland Water. Guests appreciate the well-maintained garden, the cosy and well-appointed interiors, and the thoughtful touches from the owners. While some mention the lack of a proper shower, the overall experience is delightful, with many planning to return.
Reviewers consistently mention the exceptional cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as immaculate and the cleanest they've stayed in, which indicates a very high standard of cleanliness.
The location is frequently highlighted as ideal, with its proximity to Rutland Water, local pubs, and picturesque villages. The peaceful and attractive setting in a quiet village is a recurring positive aspect.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds very comfortable. The garden adds to the comfort by providing a secure and relaxing outdoor space, although a few guests noted the lack of a proper shower as a minor discomfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped and cosy. However, several guests mention issues with the shower facilities, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of welcome gifts such as biscuits, tea, and coffee, which guests found delightful. It is politely noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We still managed to have a lovely short stay in Wren cottage. If anything we ran out of time to go to places and explore, but we hope to re-book and return to do more walking and exploring. The cottage is set in a very relaxing & sleepy village, we loved it. Thank you to Alex for the welcoming biscuits, tea and milk. XX

The bedding and towels are absolutely gorgeous. It is very well appointed, with nice kitchen table wares and just about everything you could need. Highly recommended and a lovely area to visit. For us best restaurant was the Fox but used several others and didnât experience any problems.
