Rockinghams Farm Glamping and Camping site is a simple and secluded spot surrounded by Essex countryside. The farm is a very peaceful place, where tracks, footpaths and woodland trails will allow you to get out and see wildlife, relax and seek out spectacular sunsets.

Each pod has a small veranda with table and chairs, a firepit and a barbecue. Firewood and charcoal can be bought onsite. The pods have a fridge with ice-box compartment, toaster, microwave, kettle, cafetiere, corkscrew, can opener, breadboard and breadknife plus crockery, cutlery and glasses sufficient for 2 people. Please bring all bedding and towels with you as they are not supplied.

There is a shared shower and loo block and a communal area for washing up etc.

The camping field itself is vehicle-free meaning that children are free to roam and play. There is a dedicated parking area close by.

Rockinghams Farm is in the hamlet of Layer Marney and five minutes' drive from Tiptree, where there are supermarkets, pubs and plenty of places to eat. Other local highlights include Mersea Island (20 minutes), where you will be able to hire equipment for water sports before settling down for local oysters and a seafood feast by the waterfront.

For anyone interested in birds head to one of the region’s top bird-watching spots - Copt Hall Marshes near Little Wigborough, the rspb reserve at Old Hall Marshes outside Tolleshunt Darcy, the Abberton Reservoir Nature Reserve ….. or just walk along the sea-wall beside the River Blackwater and absorb the sights and sounds of the river estuary and its birdlife. Take a picnic … it’s a wonderful place for one …. or stop on the way home at one of the many great local pubs.
