About this property

This traditional cottage is perfect for couples and small families, located in the heart of the ancient market town of Hay on Wye famous around the world as the Town of Books'. Hay on Wye boasts more than 20 bookstores, an international Festival of Arts and Literature, a wide range of cafes and restaurants and quirky independent shops. The Globe in Hay runs arts events throughout the year and the magnificent 12th century castle has recently opened its doors to the public after a 10 year restoration project. Just 0.5 miles from the cottage is the Warren, a beautiful riverside meadow where you can go swimming. Hay on Wye is a popular place to canoe and kayak along the River Wye, while walkers and cyclists can enjoy the Wye Valley Walk, the Offa s Dyke Path and the Black Mountains including the spectacular Hay Bluff where the intrepid can explore Lord Hereford s Knob. The living area is open plan, light and spacious with newly fitted wood flooring, hand picked artwork on the walls, a large rug and a stunning wood burner. The open staircase leads to the first floor where guests have the choice of two bedrooms: a king size bedroom complete with an Emma mattress and a twin bedroom. The bathroom, which features a shower over the bath, completes the property. Take the steps up to a small enclosed garden with a table and chairs where you can enjoy open views.
