Guests say

The Cottage in Keswick offers stunning views and an 'upside-down' layout to maximise the scenery. Guests appreciate its proximity to local walks and Keswick town. The property is well-equipped, with comfortable beds and a homely feel. Some guests mentioned a welcome touch with provided treats.

Reviews indicate a reasonable level of cleanliness with comfortable beds and fresh kitchen items. However, several guests noted issues such as a need for a deep clean, particularly in the oven and shower, and the presence of unpleasant odours in some rooms.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to Keswick, and accessibility to walks. The 'upside-down' design is appreciated for maximising the scenic experience, although some noted road noise due to its closeness to the road.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the living space homely. However, some reported noise issues from appliances and a 'doggy' smell, which affected the overall comfort during their stay.

The Cottage is well-equipped with kitchen essentials, and guests enjoyed the added convenience of a dishwasher and freezer. Maintenance issues such as mould, dampness, and appliance noise were noted, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and upkeep.

Guests mentioned thoughtful touches like a cake, cookies, and Plum Bread upon arrival, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Good off road parking. 30 minutes walk along the disused railway track. Ideal to get to the bus station. On a bus route from Ambleside. Close to the busy road but not intrusive. Limited area for the dog but adequate and secure.

Poor points: main issue was many hairs on the bed sheet,( don’t know if they were human or pet) had to use a duvet cover over the top as there was no spare sheet in the cupboard ( we arrived at 9.30 pm) and as it was bank holiday weekend would be difficult contacting company to get another one brought out, batteries dead in tv remote so couldn’t use it, (had to buy new ones Saturday morning) road very busy and was noisy at certain times of day, all cleaning products in bathroom empty! None at all in en-suite. Kitchen tap is either full on or nothing, the heating timing needs adjusting to come on before 8.30 in the morning as most people are already up way before then and it was a bit chilly first thing. the outside really needed a good sweep up lots of leaves just looked unkept probably because it’s for sale it feels like no one seems to be bothered about the small things? Despite the minor poor points had a lovely week although wouldn’t book this property again as not enough outside space/ garden.

There was a lot of months that kept flying around. The remote for the television wouldn't always work. The property was really clean and the bedding was spotless. We enjoyed our stay.
