Excellent leisurely walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep which include High and Low Rigg, and Castlerigg Stone Circle. For those who enjoy a challenge Helvellyn and Blencathra are nearby the views from the peaks are spectacular. The Old Vicarage is a characterful detached stone built home dating back to around 1850, originally the vicarage for St John’s-in-the-Vale it has been lovingly restored. Sitting in large mature grounds it is an ideal holiday home for families or groups of friends looking for a base to enjoy a holiday at any time of the year. Large rooms, high ceilings, stripped floors, open fires and a large garden are all waiting to be enjoyed.
