The cottage enjoys a scenic spot in the Buttermere Valley between the peak of Grasmoor and the northern tip of Crummock Water. A haven for walkers, the area is known for its high fells and woodland rambles, with popular walks including the ridge walk from Buttermere to Rannerdale, the Corpse Road and tumuli walk, and the trail from Lanthwaite Wood to Crummock Water. The peaceful hamlet of Loweswater (1.5 miles) has a welcoming inn and is just a mile from the beautiful lake of Loweswater itself. Heading west, you can visit the historic town of Cockermouth (7.5 miles), or travelling east, the bustling town of Keswick (12 miles) has numerous attractions including Derwent Pencil Museum and Puzzling Place. Entering this imaginatively updated barn conversion, the ground floor is occupied by a cosy, welcoming and spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner.
