The lake of Derwentwater is a 5-minute walk from the town centre and here you can hire rowing boats or take a trip on the launch. It takes 10 minutes to get to Keswick by car, or you can enjoy walks along the many footpaths and cycle routes following the river with plenty of picnic spots.
