Some minor issues with dampness and shower pressure were mentioned, but overall, guests had enjoyable stays and many would return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with only one mention of damp issues which seems to be an isolated case. The majority of guests found the property to be very well-maintained.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to local walks and a friendly pub. It is also a short drive from Keswick, making it an ideal base for exploring the northern lakes.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the living areas cosy, contributing to a relaxing stay. There are some comments about the softness of the bed and the low shower pressure, but these do not detract significantly from the overall comfort.

The cottage is well-furnished with modern amenities and a well-equipped kitchen. Some guests suggested improvements such as a hair dryer, better heating instructions, and a washer/dryer. The mention of a damp smell by one guest suggests a possible maintenance issue.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches like a welcome bottle of wine and a wood burner ready to use. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are offered at the owner's discretion and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage is in a really great location, with loads of fantastic walks nearby. The cottage itself is really lovely too; comfortable, cosy, and well equipped. We will definitely stay there again!

We generally always stay in Keswick, so this was a first visit to Bassenthwaite for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very well equipped & cosy plus the Sun Inn around the corner turned out to be a gem! We did tend to gravitate towards Keswick for our hiking & choice of shops, but it was literally a 15 minute drive. The only (very minor) issue we had with the cottage was after 2 days of rain, we struggled to get clothes dry. Maybe a heated airer or washer/dryer could be considered. Otherwise perfect for us and our pooch.

It is a good size for two people and well located for visiting the northern lakes.
