Guests say

Blencathra is a highly praised holiday cottage in Keswick, appreciated for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and prime location close to the town centre and Fitz Park. Guests commend the property's modern amenities and large communal spaces, making it an ideal base for exploring the Lake District. While some minor suggestions for improvement are noted, the overall experience is reported to be very enjoyable.

Guests consistently describe the property as 'spotlessly clean' and 'very clean', indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout.

The location is frequently highlighted as 'great' and 'central', with easy access to Keswick town centre, the lake, and walking routes, making it an excellent choice for visitors.

The property is praised for its comfort, with guests finding it 'very comfortable' and perfect for groups. However, the lack of mirrors and bedside lights in some rooms suggests slight room for improvement.

The facilities, including a high-end kitchen and bathroom, are well-received. Criticisms such as limited bathroom facilities for a full house and suggestions for additional seating and saucepans slightly affect the score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

There was plenty of room throughout the house which was perfect for our family. The location was ideal too as it allowed us to explore the local area without always having drive. Absolutely loved our week there and will definitely look at going back again in the future.

Only minor negatives were the one shower for 8 people and roadside parking for loading/unloading luggage but we considered this before booking and would certainly return in the future. We looked on Google maps and thought there was a local car park we could use but found it was private on arrival. We could usually get the two cars close to the house. The location was great for us with easy access to town and hill walking from the door. The house is spacious and we never felt we were under one another’s feet. The fridge freezer is massive and great for a big group.

Great location, just a 5-10 min walk to the centre, or the lake, lovely park nearby. The owner was very receptive when we reported the bin wasn't emptied. Just a few little things that stopped me giving 5 stars: 2 of the rooms didn't have a mirror (other than a tiny free standing one by the sink in one), the twin room didn't have a bin or a bedside light - so very small things that would make quite a difference. But generally a wonderful place to stay with a luxury feel. Thank you very much!
