Keswick 3.9 miles. Sitting in Threlkeld near Keswick, Cumbria is this inviting, mid-terrace cottage of Church Row. An excellent base for a family of four who want to experience this lovely part of the Lake District National Park, Sparrow Cottage offers stylish interiors throughout whilst being close to a range of outdoor activities. After parking in the off-road space, head inside to be welcomed by a fabulously furnished open-plan living space. Grab a seat on one of the plush sofas and switch on the Smart TV to watch your favourite show; why not throw some logs into the woodburning stove, too? Progress to the kitchen, a space enjoying sleek, white units with wooden worktops and a great array of appliances, such as a washer/dryer and slimline dishwasher. Once the budding chef of the family has whipped up a culinary delight here, tuck into it at the neighbouring dining table or take it out to the communal garden, where you can enjoy it as you watch the idyllic beck flow by. As the day winds to a close, climb the stairs to find two well-appointed bedrooms, a double and a bunk, as well as a fantastic bathroom, where soothing dips can be enjoyed in the spacious, corner bath and refreshing showers can be had in the glass enclosure. When it comes to dining out, you have to fantastic options close by, The Sally Inn and Horse & Farrier, where you can stop for a meal and a pint before or after visiting the nearby delights of Keswick Golf Club, the Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum and Thornsgill Beck. Why not embark on a hike to Keswick via the Railway Path, where you can discover the wonderful Derwentwater with its watersports, the Keswick Museum with its unique exhibitions and the Puzzling Place with its awe inspiring illusions? For more fun outdoors, be sure to visit Bassenthwaite Lake, a National Nature Reserve with access to sailing, waterside paths, Dodd Wood and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park. The wonders of Skiddaw and Ullswater aren't far at all, whilst the charming towns of Cockermouth, Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere are within reach, home to plenty of attractions. Keswick is a charming market town in the heart of the Lake District. It is a popular tourist destination, with plenty of attractions to keep visitors occupied, including the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place and Keswick Climbing Wall. There are also a range of pubs, restaurants and shops in the town centre, as well as lovely walks in the surrounding countryside. Keswick is a great place to visit any time of year.
