Keswick 6.5 miles. Perched in the village of Rosthwaite near Keswick is this semi-detached, family-friendly cottage in the Lake District, Nook Cottage. Retaining much of its original character on the owner's working farm, this charming abode is pet-friendly and ideally located for a family of six to explore a wonderful National Park. Roadside parking is just outside the cottage before you enter the gate into your private front garden; a lawn area with a picnic bench is sure to be your favourite spot for morning coffees in the sun! A homely living/dining room welcomes you in with two leather sofas, an armchair, and Smart TV to relax after the day's adventures. Light the open fire for added ambience, a feature your dog will love too, as you set the table for six, ready for dinner, which can be prepare in the fully equipped kitchen just next door. With an electric oven, halogen hob and microwave, this contemporary space is sure to please the chef of the family! After challenging hikes or gentle strolls around the shores of Derwentwater, load up the washing machine with your walking gear and climb the stairs to find the family bathroom to freshen up. The town offers a variety of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and excellent mountain biking opportunities, while the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre.

Rosthwaite is our favourite village in Borrowdale and therefore, the Lake District. Nook Cottage was the most comfortable accommodation we've stayed in there. Will definitely return.

Very well equipped with lovely secure garden so perfect for dogs. Located on a working farm with an amazing tea room the cake is to die for !!! Very comfortable for 6 people

Absolutely wonderful cottage - in a lovely part of the Lake District. It felt like home from home. It really is a gorgeous cottage - stunning scenery all around and beautiful walks from the door, couple of pubs in walking distance (about 2 miles or so ) nice to call in for a pint after a walk in the mountains then walk back to cottage or get the bus back (honister rambler passes through here too regularly). Booths just up the road to get supplies etc - lovely drive to Keswick from Borrowdale too. Nook Cottage was really clean and spacious - even though there was only two of us and the dog we booked this 3 bed cottage as it was right in the heart of Borrowdale, nice little farm cafe about 1 minute walk. Excellent and well equipped cottage, had everything we needed. Very comfy bed and we slept like logs. Nice welcome pack for us and also one for the dog too. Very thoughtful ! Faye - one of the owners was lovely and on hand for anything (we didnt meet her other half as he was busy lambing ). Lots of sheep and lambs about when we went which was so nice. Enclosed garden with picnic table and also bird feeders which was great to watch the different birds on it at all times of the day and early evening. We had lovely evening walks round Borrowdale. What a gem of a place ! Loved every minute and were sad to leave ! We will be back.
