Snaptrip says

High Spy Cottage in Keswick is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and stunning location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped and tastefully decorated apartments, with many noting the beautiful views and peaceful setting. The property's proximity to good walks and Keswick is a plus, though the access road condition is a recurring concern.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the property as clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about minor issues that do not detract from the overall high standards of cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded for its beautiful views and proximity to Keswick and walking paths. However, the access road's condition and the walk into town being slightly longer than expected slightly lower the score.

The comfort of the apartments is frequently commended, with guests finding them cosy and well-furnished. A few comments about the need for better temperature control and bedding appropriate for the season are noted.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchens and the inclusion of a bath. Some guests mention minor issues with dishwashers, TVs, and internet connectivity, as well as maintenance concerns about the driveway.

While guests express gratitude and are pleased with their stays, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the host, so it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

High Spy is a beautiful one bedroomed, ground floor apartment, in an elevated position, situated on the outskirts of the pretty Lakeland town of Keswick. This delightful holiday home is part of Fieldside Grange, a former gentleman's residence which has been sympathetically converted into apartments and retains original charm and character. Offering contemporary accommodation, this lovely apartment boasts spectacular panoramic views from the shared grounds over Keswick to Bassenthwaite Lake. Inside your single-storey holiday apartment are a double bedroom, a bathroom with a shower over the bath and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with patio doors. Aside from the shared grounds, the property has a private patio area, from where you may wish to enjoy a drink on a summer's evening after a busy day out and about. Castlerigg stone circle (a five minute drive), St Johns in the Vale and low level countryside walks can be enjoyed directly from the doorstep. For the more energetic Skiddaw, Latrigg, Catbells and the Borrowdale Valley are all waiting to be conquered and explored. A welcoming apartment, ideal for a couple and with plenty to see and do within reach.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the north of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town has a number of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks and the famous Theatre by the Lake.

Fantastic views from the patio and very well equipped. Would definitely recommend. Just take care on the first part of the access driveway as a little uneven.

  • Sue

It is a little further from Keswick centre than we expected - about 40 mins walk.

  • Alexandra

Everything you could need was provided in the apartment. After reading some previous reviews about the driveway, this did not cause us any problems. Feel very relaxed after our weeks stay. Thank you.
