Surrounded by stunning scenery, this cosy retreat for two is a fantastic base for exploring the magnificent Wasdale Valley. Be sure to bring your hiking boots with you as you’ll be spoilt for choice by the walks on offer from the door. There are plenty of high fells to choose from, including Scafell Pike. And as well as England’s highest mountain, Wasdale is also home to Wastwater, England’s deepest lake, and the smallest church, St Olaf’s. The valley has plenty of friendly pubs to try out so be sure to stop off on your way back to the cottage.
Hop across to neighbouring Eskdale, another beautiful valley. Enjoy a ride on the famous La’al Ratty steam train, head to the beach at Drigg or visit historic Muncaster Castle. Though enjoying a more remote setting, the rest of The Lakes are still within easy reach. Why not spend a day exploring Keswick, the adventure capital of the North Lakes? Or head east to bustling Bowness and Windermere, with its wealth of visitor attractions, shops and restaurants.
Offering studio-style, flexible accommodation with a handy sofa bed, this is a delightful cottage for two. Head through the wooden picket gate to discover this gem of a retreat. Once inside, the charming, rustic feel of this bijou cottage is sure to delight. The open-plan layout makes it a very easy cottage to enjoy spending time in. The living area has an inviting L-shaped sofa and a TV, but you might prefer to gaze out at the stunning views instead! The sofa can be converted into a high quality double sofa bed – it will be left as a sofa for your arrival, but all the bedding will be available, so you can make the sofa bed up as and when it suits you.
At the other end of the room, the galley kitchen has been cleverly designed, making full use of the space on offer, and it’s well equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday. There's an electric oven and hob, a handy microwave, and a built-in fridge/freezer, as well as the all-important kettle and toaster. Opposite the kitchen area is the dining table, perfect for moving seamlessly from cooking to eating. A door leads through from the kitchen area to the separate bathroom. As well as the WC, there is a stylish shower over the bath, ideal for refreshing tired muscles after a long day on the fells.
A door leads out from the living area to the enclosed private garden, a truly fantastic space. Out here you'll find a generous lawn and a delightful patio area with a bistro-style table and chairs, and there are wonderful views of the surrounding fells - it’s a lovely spot to relax and unwind after a day out exploring.
